Hi, I am Brogan

I'm a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and EMDR therapist, with over 10 years' experience working in mental health.

I particularly enjoy working with people who are used to being capable, conscientious and there for everyone else but underneath can feel overwhelmed by the pressure they put on themselves.

You might find yourself overthinking, setting impossibly high standards, struggling to say no, or feeling guilty when you slow down. Perhaps you're constantly questioning whether you're doing enough, or have spent so long pushing through that you're beginning to feel exhausted.

Therapy offers a space to understand these patterns, where they may have come from, and how to begin doing things differently — without losing the ambitious, caring or driven parts of who you are.

more about me

You might be used to being the one who copes

From the outside, you may seem capable, organised and in control. You're someone who gets things done, thinks about other people and can usually be relied upon.

But underneath, things might feel quite different.

Perhaps your mind rarely switches off. You replay conversations, question your decisions or worry about whether you've done enough. You might set high standards for yourself and find mistakes difficult to let go of, even when you'd be much more understanding towards somebody else.

You may find yourself saying yes when you really want to say no, worrying about disappointing people or feeling responsible for how others feel. And when you finally do have an opportunity to slow down, you might struggle to enjoy it without thinking about what you should be doing instead.

Over time, living with this much internal pressure can become exhausting.

You don't have to wait until you're completely burnt out before something needs to change.

How I can help

Therapy that meets you where you are

Support beyond these areas

Although I have a particular interest in perfectionism, people pleasing, stress and burnout, I also work with a wider range of emotional and mental health difficulties.

As a CBT and EMDR therapist, I support people experiencing anxiety, OCD, panic, phobias, low mood, trauma and PTSD, low self-esteem. I also have experience and additional training in working with neurodivergent clients, adapting therapy to individual needs where helpful.

If you're unsure whether I can help with what you're experiencing, you're very welcome to book a free 15-minute call so we can talk it through together.

Frequently Asked Questions

I offer a range of online appointment times, including early morning and evening sessions, to help fit therapy around your work, family and other commitments.

My current working days are Monday to Thursday.

I currently offer online therapy, allowing you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own home. I also plan to offer face to face appointments from the end of 2026 in St Margaret's at Cliffe, giving you the choice of the setting that feels right for you.

If you're unsure which option would suit you best, I'd be happy to discuss this with you before arranging your first appointment.

I offer a free, no-obligation introductory call. Simply get in touch using the contact form, and we'll arrange a time to have an informal conversation. This is an opportunity for us to discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to gain, and whether I feel like the right therapist for you.

We'll also talk through practical details such as availability, session options and any questions you may have, so you can decide whether you'd like to take the next step with confidence.

There's no pressure to make a decision during our call – it's simply an opportunity to see whether working together feels like the right fit.

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin exploring what has brought you to therapy. We'll talk about the difficulties you're experiencing, what you hope to gain from therapy, and any questions or concerns you may have.

I'll also explain how I work and, together, we'll discuss which therapeutic approach is likely to be most helpful for your needs, whether that's CBT, EMDR or a combination of approaches. This gives you the opportunity to understand what therapy may involve and what you can expect from future sessions.

Most importantly, the first session is about making sure you feel comfortable. Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process, and this session gives you the chance to decide whether you feel we're a good fit to work together.

There is no expectation to have everything figured out before your first session. We simply begin where you are.

I have worked with Brogan, over the past few months and have found her to be a wonderful support in my psychological journey. Utilizing techniques like CBT and EMDR, she takes an individualised and flexible approach to ensure personal challenges are tackled sensitively. Quite rightly, Brogan encourages clients to work on tasks away from the sessions and gives you the space to explore and reflect when you return. The progress we made has helped me in many aspects of my personal and professional life, and I have no doubt it is due to the therapeutic relationship we established. Thank you, Brogan.
